For the majority of patients, the Patient and Emergency Room is the first point of contact at Mohmand International Hospital. The MIH emergency team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In the MIH, emergency treatment, planned but also short-term necessary inpatient admission and, if necessary, short-term accommodation in the admission ward are combined in one unit. Here, all patients of the hospital are screened and, depending on the treatment requirements, examined by the departments • General surgery • Trauma surgery • Cardiology • Internal Medicine • Gynecology • Pediatrics The triage system: The MIH Emergency Dep aims to provide all patients with the fastest and most comprehensive care possible. However, the decisive factor is not the order of appearance, but the severity of the respective illness or injury or the extent of symptoms such as pain, bleeding, fever and the age of the patient. In the MIH “Triage System" is used to determine the urgency of treatment. To this end, each patient is classified by a medical professional in the urgency of their treatment shortly after arriving at the emergency room. Life-threatening emergencies (e.g. patients with heart attacks or traffic accidents) have priority in treatment. We therefore ask for your understanding if patients who arrive after you are still more likely to be cared for. Waiting times cannot be avoided in emergency care.
